How it began

The United Nations proclaimed the years 2001-2010
"International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World".
(UN General Assembly Resolution 53/25)

It is in the framework of this Resolution that we wish to draw children’s attention to the phenomenon of violence in the world.

Since 2001, World Children’s Poetry Day has launched the theme

DRUMS FOR PEACE

This action takes place in many countries of the world.
