PROPOSAL TO THE TEACHERS :
AN INTERNATIONAL TEACHER’s PRIZE

In order to express our gratitude to the teachers and educators who organize the participation of their pupils in our initiative, we created "The International Teacher’s Prize”

Our wish is that public recognition be given to those who are in charge of the education of children since they are preparing the future of our world by educating its future citizens.

The applications for this prize can be sent to us in the language of the candidate and should reach us not later than March 1st, 2008.

A jury which will be set up by the WPCD will award the International Teacher’s Prize to the teacher or educator who realized the best educational approach, meeting the criteria mentioned below in the best possible way …

  • the coherence of the project in relationship to the theme …
  • the place and rootedness of poetry in everyday life …
  • the involvement of the children.

Only one single prizewinner shall be selected.

The prize consists of an invitation of three days to Belgium.
Travelling expenses and accommodation will be in charge of the WPCD.

We request you to comply with the rules mentioned below :

  1. We are asking teachers, educators and facilitators to develop an educational approach for the children on the theme of 2008.
  2. Participants will prepare a file describing the methodology they adopted with their pupils in order to discuss the theme in question: Drums for Peace
  3. Participants are requested to indicate their family name, Christian name, address, and telephone number of their school as well as their private address.
  4. On receipt of the file an acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you.
  5. Documents received will not be returned.
